Signal Converters and Measuring Transducers
Signal converter and measuring transducer
Signal converters are used to convert specific values into standard signals. This conversion is done in different ways: Either an analog signal - such as voltage - is converted into a digital form, or vice versa - a concrete number is converted into a physical quantity, such as pressure or voltage. It is also possible to convert an analog signal into another analog signal. In Bürklin Elektronik's product range, you will find analog-to-digital converters as well as digital-to-analog or analog-to-analog converters. Signal converters are increasingly used in plant engineering. There they serve to safeguard processes. In addition to the conversion of signals, they can also be separated and measured by the respective converter. In this area, so-called signal isolating amplifiers are used. A measuring transducer is a measuring device with which an input variable is converted into an output variable in accordance with the basic DIN 1319 standard. The temperature transmitter, for example, converts the signal of a temperature sensor into a standardized output signal. Since the sensor is sensitive to interference, measured values can thus be transmitted over a longer period with little risk of interference.
