Comparison of single-phase and three-phase bridge rectifiers
Bridge rectifiers are used, for example, in power supplies of electronic devices. In simple terms, they are used to rectify AC voltages. Bridge rectifiers consist of two diodes connected in parallel, usually made of silicon. A common distinction is made between single-phase and three-phase bridge rectifiers. The difference: three-phase bridge rectifiers have a smaller ripple voltage than rectifiers with single-phase AC voltage. They are fed with three AC voltages that are out of phase, with otherwise the same power and filtering.
