WAGO: From Minden into the world

WAGO's products and solutions ensure greater safety and efficiency. The products are used in industry, in railway and power engineering, in the marine and offshore sector, as well as in building and lighting technology, among other things.

Since its foundation in 1951, WAGO has grown continuously and now employs around 4,300 people at its headquarters in Minden and in Sondershausen, Germany. The WAGO Group is represented worldwide with nine international production and distribution sites, 22 additional sales companies and representatives in over 80 countries. The companies WAGO Electronics (power supplies), M&M Software (software solutions), Bisontec (assembly automation) and Bauer Systeme (handling systems for control cabinet construction) round off the manufacturer's portfolio.

The company has been manufacturing at its headquarters in Minden since 1951, in Roissy (France) since 1971, in Domdidier (Switzerland) since 1977, in Milwaukee (USA) since 1979, and in Sondershausen (Germany) and Tokyo (Japan) since 1990. In 1995, the production site in Delhi (India) was opened, followed by Tianjin (China) and Wroclaw (Poland) in 1997.

Top product categories from WAGO: Automation technology, components for I/O systems and connection technology.

Innovative connection technology (e.g. connectors or rail-mounted terminal blocks), interface electronics (e.g. system cabling and relays ) and automation technology (e.g. sensor boxes and actuator boxes ) are WAGO's central product areas.

Automation technology and I/O modules from WAGO

WAGO offers technology that can be used flexibly and serves to optimise production processes. The range of automation technology includes product solutions such as software, HMI devices and control technology up to I/O modules, as well as sensor and actuator boxes. In addition, the manufacturer's modular and fieldbus-independent electrical components are essential components of decentralised automation systems in industry.

To minimise installation and wiring work, the use of I/O modules is recommended. These enable space-saving and fast wiring of complete I/O systems. This ensures performance and communication exchange in plants and machines.

Relays for the industry of tomorrow: WAGO industrial relays at Bürklin Elektronik

For the planning and implementation of industrial systems, it is of central importance to specifically meet the individual requirements of each industry. Ease of operation and maintenance, minimised investment costs and system protection are decisive factors. The focus is always on the reliability and performance of the respective electrical components.

For this purpose, WAGO provides an extensive range of transmitters, current transformers, power supplies and relays, as well as optocoupler modules and system cabling.

WAGO relays are insensitive to electromagnetic interference fields and ensure isolation between coil and contact set. They extend the service life of other electrical components and ensure high resistance to voltage and current peaks. The relays enable potential-free isolation of the load circuit and promote simple circuit integration.

User-friendly PCB connection with the WAGO connection system

WAGO's PCB connection systems provide a user-friendly and efficient solution for PCB connection in a variety of applications. The MCS MINI, MCS MAXI 6 and MCS MAXI 16 connector family covers a broad cross-section range from 0.14 to 25 mm². This means that WAGO can offer the right connector for every application, from compact applications to those with higher power requirements.

The intuitive lever mechanism makes wiring easy and tool-free, allowing manual installation. This not only makes installation more efficient, but also reduces the potential for errors. The connection systems combine reliability and user-friendliness, making them suitable for a range of industries.

5-pole Connecting Terminal Block of the 221-415 Product Series

WAGO connection terminal blocks of the 221-415 Series are easy to handle and enable quick wiring in three steps: Open lever, insert conductor and close lever. The conductor terminal blocks are also available with two, three or five connection terminals. Single, fine, and multi-wire conductors can be installed. The simple handling reduces the time required for installation.

A fastening adapter facilitates standard-compliant installation, but individual fixing of the conductors is also possible. In this way, the product can be adapted to the respective needs of the customer.

4-channel digital input of the 750-408 series

The use of WAGO's 4-channel digital input is recommended for the acquisition of control signals. The signal can be transmitted via sensors, for example. An advantage of the electrical component is the upstream filter to suppress interference. In addition, the field and system levels are galvanically isolated from each other. This prevents electrical conduction between two circuits. Another advantage is the reduction of contact corrosion.

The housing of the electrical component is made of polycarbonate and polyamide 6.6 - this makes the product particularly resistant to mechanical influences (e.g., force) and heat-resistant.

Small switch relay: industrial relay of the product series 788-312

Small switch relays of the product series 788-312 have a reinforced insulation between coil and contacts. This counteracts wear of the electrical components, thus extending the durability of the electronic components. To simplify the assembly of conductors, the product is equipped with the patented Push-in CAGE CLAMP® function.

The universal connection for all types of conductors allows direct setting of the cabling. Conductor range: single-, multi- and fine-stranded conductors from 0.14 to 25 millimetres. The Push-in CAGE CLAMP® allows two connection methods: either the conductor is inserted directly into the electrical component (push-in) or mounted using a tool. To do this, the tool must be inserted at the clamping point to open, the conductor is inserted, and the tool removed again.
