Branch terminal for low-voltage power cables is suitable for establishing an electrical connection by means of mechanical fixing. The current flow of the trunk cable is ensured by pressing a conventional pair of pliers together with the conductors of the branch cable. The trunk cable is positioned so that the upper toothed edge in the housing cuts through the insulation of the cable when it is pressed together and the embedded contact pieces thus establish the electrical connection between the branch cables.
