PhotoMOS Relays
Photomos relays are solid state relays that use light to trigger a switching operation. They consist of an LED that generates light when activated and a light-sensitive transistor that converts the light into an electric current flow. This mode of operation enables safe switching of high voltages and currents without having to rely on mechanical contacts.
Photomos relays offer high reliability compared to conventional mechanical relays and are also more durable. Because they provide silent and galvanically isolated switching, such relays are particularly suitable for applications where precise signal transmission and freedom from interference are important. The models differ in output voltage, load current, response time and insulation resistance and can be ideally supplemented with heat sinks and protective diodes.
