Bench Power Supplies and Loads
Laboratory power supplies, power sources and loads.
Laboratory power supplies are also known as laboratory power supplies. Circuits or components can be supplied with a defined voltage or current using a laboratory power supply. In contrast, simple fixed voltage power supplies and power supplies only allow voltage regulation. Some versions of laboratory power supplies can also function as electronic loads. Laboratory power supplies consist of a rectifier including smoothing, a regulating circuit and a transformer that reduces the line voltage to a lower value. Output voltage and current are set by the regulation circuit. Analog or digital voltmeters and ammeters are used to set current and voltage and to display these two values. The outputs of the laboratory power supply are usually protected against overload, short circuit and reverse polarity. Laboratory power supplies are considered to be very safe because they are equipped with numerous protective mechanisms and can be switched off automatically in an emergency. In addition, if the corresponding mechanisms are triggered, sources of error can be reliably found.
