Fans for industry and the private sector
A breath of fresh air in ventilation technology: In 1963, Gerhard Sturm and Heinz Ziehl founded Elektrobau Mulfingen (ebm). Even at the beginning of the company's activities, ebm provided innovative product developments - for example, by introducing the first compact fan for EC/DC technology. At the time, the product was known as a "brushless DC motor."
Almost thirty years later, the company took over the electric motor manufacturer PAPST MOTOREN GmbH from St. Georgen (in the Black Forest). In the following years, ebm-papst pushed the development of the innovative and energy-saving centrifugal fans and axial fans with integrated electronics.
With the RadiCal® product series, ebm managed to set a benchmark in the field of EC centrifugal fans. A special feature is the innovative combination of materials to increase the stability of the aerodynamically optimized impellers. The company also provided novel product solutions in passive components - for example, with the AxiTop (diffuser), which has a lower energy requirement while generating more power!
In drive technology, ebm focuses on individual solution concepts for specialized industrial sectors. The drives are used in a variety of ways - for example, in industrial automation or laboratory and medical technology.

Keeping a cool head: To counteract heat build-up in electronic components, effective cooling or continuous ventilation is essential. The normal operating temperature of the equipment is maintained, and individual components wear out less quickly. With its fans, blowers, and energy-efficient connection cables, ebm offers individualized, high-performance product solutions for industry.
Axial fans for ventilating and exhausting electronic equipment
Whether it's entire industrial plants, modern data centres with numerous servers or smaller components, innovative air technology solutions are needed to achieve the right working temperature and ensure consistent air exchange. Fans from ebm-papst move air for heat exchange or cold exchange in devices and systems.
Fans from ebm impress with their compact design, low installation depth and low noise levels. For example, the manufacturer's axial fans have the external rotor motor integrated into the component.
To the axial fans from ebm-papstTangential fans - compact ventilation technology from ebm-papst
The tangential blowers from ebm-papst are suitable for a wide range of applications (e.g., automotive). Here, ebm fans are characterized by their low overall height and efficient, uniform volumetric flow - flow technology that enables a high air throughput with a large intake and exhaust cross-div. Furthermore, the flow velocity and noise levels remain low.
Different drive variations are available according to the requirement criteria of individual industries: asymmetrical shaded-pole motors, capacitor motors or Green Technology EC motors (DC motors) with built-in commutation electronics.
Radial fans for air exchange
Radial fans from ebm-papst are available with both forward and backward curved blades. In this case, the backward-curved blades reduce energy consumption.
Radial fans with forward curved blades achieve the same air flow and pressure parameters as those with backward curved blades. However, the parameters are achieved already at low overall height. Fans with forward curved blades are suitable mainly for small electronic devices.

AC axial fans of the 4000 Z product series
The axial fans of the 4000 Z series are designed for a nominal voltage of up to 230 volts. Due to the low installation depth of 38 millimetres, this type of fan can be used with flatter electrical devices. AC fans from ebm-papst ensure a continuous and stable air flow supply for the ventilation and exhaust of electronic and electrical devices.
To the productDC radial fan series RLF 35-8/14 N
Equipped with a forward curved impeller, the fan draws in ambient air axially. The air is discharged radially - following the design of the fan. The housing of the DC radial fan is made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic. Its material properties make the component resistant and enable a longer operating time.
At an optimum ambient temperature of maximum 40 °C, the centrifugal fan achieves an operating time of 60,000 hours. A motor protection is integrated to prevent the drive from blocking in the event of reverse polarity and to protect the component.
To the productDC crossflow blower of the product series QG 030-148/14
With a mass of 0.235 kilograms, the QG 030-148/14 series crossflow blower is particularly light. The impeller and housing are made of aluminium, making the blower weather resistant. Due to the properties of the metal, there is inherent protection against corrosion, and the unit is UV resistant. At ideal temperature conditions (40 °C), the average operating time is 30,000 hours.
The cross-flow blowers have built-in motor protection: blocking of the motor is prevented, for example, if the component has been incorrectly polarized. Also installed is stall and overload protection - for example, in the event that high voltages occur, or foreign objects block the blades.
